31-Day Mage Challenge: Twenty-Seven – “Favorite/Least Favorite Pokemon”

“WHO’S THAT POKÉMON?!” It’s whoever your favorite and least favorite are. What with the world so washed away with the popularity of the hit mobile game Pokémon Go, we thought we’d take the opportunity to talk about some Pokémon. Also, it’s a reprieve from the brutally hard questions like “favorite console” or “favorite protagonist”. So many choices! There may be a ton of options with the Pokémon, too, but it seems easier to pick out the ones we like and dislike most. This challenge is so universal, be sure to tell us your answer in the comments below!
“What are your Favorite and Least Favorite Pokémon?“
The Timely Mage
I generally like either Pokémon that I find to be cute (Vulpix, Sandshrew, Fennekin, Aron, etc) or cool (Dragonair, Charizard, Luxray, Jolteon, Vaporeon, etc) but my favorite is a mix of both, that being Umbreon. It embodies both sides of the spectrum while also integrating one of my favorite types, color, and being a part of the Eevee family.
My least favorite Pokémon might have to be Jynx (’nuff said).
The Black Humor Mage
The Rage Mage
Maybe I played Pokémon like when I was four or five? I’m not into cockfighting, either. But even from a young age, I said “screw the starters” and used a team of Magikarps. Their worthless splashing was a metaphor for the existential pointlessness of society. And Gyarados owned the rage. The Dragon Rage.
Least favorite? Every lame Digimon Pokémon after the first generation. Yeah. That’s right. You should feel bad about something you couldn’t control, like when you were born. Isn’t life unfair? *cue Tidus laugh* “Hah. Hah. Hah. Hah. Hah.”
The Green Screen Mage
Tropius is my favorite Pokémon! Ruby came out when I was getting better at gaming and I LOVED it. Little 10-year-old me who was obsessed with Brachiosaurus comes across this dinosaur with leaf wings was fantastic!
Least favorite was really hard. Sure there are annoying ones, but I feel like they have there places…. then I remembered Mr. Mime. That horrific gangly man-like thing whose hands haunt me to this day.
The White Out Mage
Among my favorites are: Charmander, Jigglypuff, Psyduck, Farfetch’d and mah Growlithe. They’re all really cute. Of those ones, Psyduck is my favorite! He’s really bashful and he has a blank stare that makes him silly.
And as for least favorite… Mr. Mime. Ugh, he drives me nuts. It’s super creepy that he’s like a humanoid-thing. You can’t tell me he’s a Pokémon when (almost) all the others are animals.
The Well-Red Mage
My two favorites are Bulbasaur and Psyduck. I always chose Bulbasaur as my starter because I love his plant-aesthetic. Everyone I knew picked Charmander, so my life was a hard one. Psyduck (like the White Out Mage) is my ultimate favorite though, mostly because of the anime. Plus he utilizes moves from my favorite two types: Water and Psychic. I also liked Mewtwo and Gengar a lot.
As for least favorite, I generally dislike the boring Pokémon that don’t have much interesting going for them: Seel, Dewgong, Lickitung, Krabby (it’s literally just a regular crab spelled with a “K”, but I named mine “Patty” in Pokémon Go). Taurus is my least, least, least favorite. Is he anyone’s favorite? Super boring.

I also like Psyduck cos #AwesomeSauce dammit!!! (They tried to regrow the love in Black n White anime with Ducklett, but it’s jus wacky n silly, so funny enough, but not the same, or anywhere like as good, as Psyduck)
But for me, it’s hard cos originals have a place in my heart, but some of the newer tho….

My favourite Pokémon is Gengar. I liked Haunter because there was something mysterious about the way he was a head and a pair of hands, but I prefer Gengar because he is the evolved version. I actually trained a level 100 Gengar that could not be hurt by normal attacks and was one of the few Pokémon to learn Dream Eater and recover his health. Unfortunately, the popularity Mewtwo affect my chances. I also liked Weezing because of the interesting design.
My least favourite is Ditto. Ditto is pointless, fighting Ditto means two similar Pokémon wasting their attacks to defeat each other and I have never heard anyone training Ditto. I also caught one which caused all my Pokémon to switch names.
I was interested to see the other hated Pokémon and noticed they were mostly Normal types, is this because they are too random and weird to like? I found the comments on Jynx, Mr Mime and Likitung interesting
I’m going to be very specific here and say that my favorite Pokemon is Shiny Black Charizard. There’s just something about this special Charizard that emanates coolness, or should I say hotness? I even have a plushie of said black Charizard, which speaks to how much popularity he’s gained as a shiny. Mega Charizard X, which is the black dragon-type Charizard is also a favorite because of its color and desired typing. However, I usually go with the classics when answering this one, so shiny Charizard it is!
Oh, and my least favorite Pokemon? Probably Jynx. I mean, I don’t really hate any Pokemon, but Timely Mage has already said ’nuff.
That is pretty dang specific! lol
So I know next to nothing about Pokemon; however, my roommate and I used to watch the show in college many moons ago, and we were obsessed with Jigglypuff because of his song. I also just saw a Snorlax pillow on Facebook. I don’t need it. I can’t afford it. I don’t know where I’d put it, but I don’t get it I will throw a fit.
I love me some Snorlax, and a pillow with him on it is genius.
Psyduck has always been my favorite Pokemon. My best friend (at the time) loved Meowth, so we had a bit of a rivalry going. So I guess you could say Meowth is my least favorite lol.
Aw poor Meowth. I feel so bad for him on the anime…
My favourites are Umbreon and Kyogre, least favourite is Jynx — good choices, Timely Mage!

lol at the Rage Mage XD I couldn’t keep up with the new pokemons that came after the first generation that’s why i started watching Pokemon from the first episode all over.
my favorite would be Vulpix, I mean it’s fate that I would choose a fire pokemon same as my zodiac element
my least favorite would be Pinsir .. I hate insects and that Pokemon looks like one giant beetle. Ironically it’s one of my strongest pokemon on pokemon go.
First gen is my favorite as well, but I’ve played a few games after red/blue/yellow. There’s just more “filler” Pokemon in those later gens, in my opinion. Vulpix is great but I love Pinsir as well. In fact, I think I’d be a bug trainer if Pokemon were real.
Bulbasaur! : ) On the inside he’s tough and loyal. But on the outside he’s just too damn cute. And he tries to act mean and tough like “Don’t mess with my owner, bulba bulba!” he’s even cuter XD
