“Petition Konami to get back in the game!”

Ah, Konami. We want to love you. We really do. You’ve developed and published so many great games in the past. Metal Gear Solid. ContraZombies Ate My Neighbors. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Suikoden. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Gradius. Tons of arcade classics like X-Men and Sunset Riders. But now all you want to do is make Kojima-less slot machines and watch the world burn.

Together with Games Revisited, The Well-Red Mage is promoting a petition you can sign to make Konami wake up and get back in the game by re-releasing their arcade classics (at least) for purchase digitally. Nothing says “I want my way” like a good ol’ petition. The pen is mightier than the sword.

So Konami, bring The Simpsons back from the dead. At least. Please.

  1. Aahhh konami… *Sighs Heavily*
I, personally, can never forgive them for the battle/feud/whathaveyou with Kojima… & even more importantly the loss of Silent Hills…
I’m still very angry that I sat through all of that BS nonsense corridor (foetus? or some chewing gum?) for Over 10 Mins!!! & then just when you see dude finally walkin into town proper.. Music building.. mood growin.. Bang! Comin Soon! & you remember.. No it ain’t! Ever! Dammitall!!! *Growls then Sighs* Oh Well…..

    1. That is true but I wonder if that’s the reason. They had X-Men and the Simpsons up for a short time and then pulled them without any kind of announcement. Coincidental that both rights expired…? Or conspiracy,,,,?

  2. Maybe it’s just me, but for some reason, I can’t help but think that the premise of this petition reads like an intervention. It’s like we know Konami hasn’t been doing too well lately and has been making many bad decisions, so we’re all trying to do what we can to get them get back on track.

    1. Hey that’s hilarious because I was aiming for an intervention-like sound. It’s like the gaming community dumps out Konami’s trash and it’s just full of syringes and pachinkos…
