“A Completely Objective Animal Crossing: New Horizons Villager Tier List – by Red Mage and Black Mage”

Finally, right? Here to set the record straight and occupy all the quarantine time is our definitive, objective, and important Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager tier list which was compiled by the Black Humor Mage and myself in a perfectly rational state of mind and not at all in the wee hours of the morning over the phone whilst inebriated on bells and nook miles.

Think of it as less a “your favorite villager is trash” and more like “our favorite villagers are fundamentally the best”. For criteria judging the 402 recruitable villagers in New Horizons, we looked at 7 key aspects:

1. Uniqueness
2. Overall design
3. Aesthetics
4. Color palette
5. Plainness
6. Nightmare factor
7. Not personal taste

We organized our Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager tier list into S, A, B, C, D, F, and Z ranks. S is the best, of course, the rarest, most unique, and most interesting. A falls just short of perfection. B are villagers we’d be happy with. C are those that we’re kind of on the fence about for a variety of reasons. Like, we wouldn’t worry too much if they joined but we’d probably evict them without notice if we could. D are villagers that aren’t allowed on the island, at all. And you’ll see why we needed a Z.
